So, who are they?

LEAF are an independent ¬tea house and bar based on the thriving culture-hotspot of Bold Street in Liverpool. LEAF pride themselves on being able to offer a relaxed, creative space specializing in the best quality teas and coffees available as well as homemade food. LEAF host regular events throughout the month, including open-mic nights, craft fairs and even a knitting club.

What did academyONE do?

We supported LEAF with business mentoring as well as delivering the training courses from “Guide to Successful Retailing”. We also offered LEAF WorldHost training in “Frontline Management Solutions”. academyONE also supported LEAF in completing basic food hygiene and first aid courses that are vital to the business. Staff are now undertaking NVQs in Management and there is interest in further WorldHost products in the future.

So, why was that so good?

Having LEAF invest time and effort into their staff gives ONE huge boost to the people who are working there every day. This then reduces LEAF’s staff turnover, meaning they can spend more time with their customers and less worrying about who they need to bring in.
WorldHost is the flag-bearer for Customer Service Quality in the UK. Utilising the expertise and self-reflective nature of WorldHost proves LEAF as a business which takes the standard of their service and the role of their management staff seriously. The legacy of this is the NVQs, so the high quality is actively being maintained by all undertaking their qualifications.

Don’t take our word for it, what did LEAF say?

“I really like the fact that academyONE takes the time to understand our business. If academyONE sees an opportunity that’s relative to the business they inform us but don’t try to sell us something we don’t need, they concentrate on what we do need. academyONE takes a genuine interest in the people as well as the business and that was really important for us. I’ve seen benefits from the Worldhost training; people are looking at themselves in a different light and managing people in a different way.” Raychel Stefford, HR Manager, LEAF, OHMEOHMY and The Garden at FACT
